Lost Wax Lose Your Rage – Live at Midland Theatre

Lose Your Rage is a Lost Wax rock mashup recorded live at the Midland Theatre in Kansas City. First, the band tears into “Killing in the Name” by Rage Against the Machine. Then the vocalists crash in with Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.” Finally, Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” brings it all home. In addition, you’ll find the full lineup of musicians below.

Inside the Performance

First, notice how many people it takes to pull this off. In total, 27 musicians and vocalists share the Midland Theatre stage. For example, two drummers drive the heavy rhythm together. Meanwhile, a bassist, three keyboard players and four guitarists build a wall of sound. On top of that, a six-piece horn section of saxophones, trumpets and trombones adds bite to every riff. Then 11 lead vocalists trade the mic, so the rap verses and rock choruses each land with force.

In addition, Chris Davis wrote the music and produced the track. After that, Rob Rebeck mixed it. Finally, Paradise Productions captured the audio and video, so the energy of the night comes through on screen.

Why the Mashup Works

Above all, this video proves Lost Wax can rock as hard as it grooves. After all, the group is the original Mashup Party Band, with tracks spanning six decades of Pop, Rock, Hip Hop and R&B. As a result, a ’90s protest anthem, a 2000s rap classic and a ’70s metal staple fit into one set. In other words, Lost Wax connects music fans of every era. Similarly, the band brings that same genre-crossing approach to weddings, corporate events and private parties.
